A Masterpiece of Handcrafted Sound
Jackson’s custom-made banjo, crafted by Piotr Bułas in Poland, is a testament to craftsmanship and innovation. Every part of this banjo, down to the screws, is made by Piotr himself. He even casts the tone ring using a unique bronze alloy from a local foundry.
Jackson didn’t just buy this banjo online. He visited Piotr’s workshop near Warsaw to try out different styles and materials. Once it was finished, Piotr personally delivered it to Jackson in Brussels and made sure it was set up perfectly.
They first met at the LaRoche Bluegrass Festival in the French Alps, and later at the European World of Bluegrass festival in the Netherlands. When Jackson wanted a custom banjo, Piotr was his top choice.
With 24 frets, a radius fretboard, mahogany body, and that special bronze tone ring, this banjo is a perfect match for Jackson’s style and Piotr’s skill.
The mahogany body gives it a warm, rich sound, ideal for Jackson’s fingerpicking. The bronze tone ring adds brightness and clarity, so every note is crisp. The radius fretboard makes it comfortable and easy to play, giving Jackson full freedom of expression.
Jackson’s Bułas banjo might not be on stage every night, but it’s a huge inspiration. It reminds him of the dedication and skill that go into making a great instrument. And when he does play it, the sound is warm and resonant, taking listeners on a journey with its unique melodies.
