We’re thrilled to bring our blend of traditional folk music and storytelling to Spiritwood Acoustic in Kennewick on May 3rd, 2025. This special day features both an afternoon workshop and evening concert, creating an immersive experience with our music. During the workshop (1PM-3PM), we’ll share instrumental techniques and our approach to traditional folk forms, drawing on our backgrounds in performance and musical training. The evening concert (6:30PM-8:30PM) will showcase our repertoire of traditional ballads and original compositions, featuring close vocal harmonies with banjo and guitar accompaniment.

This event aligns perfectly with Spiritwood’s commitment to fostering American roots music in the Tri-Cities area. Tickets are available separately for the workshop ($10) and concert ($15), or as a combined package ($20). This all-ages event will be held at Spiritwood’s location at 5601 W. Clearwater Ave, Suite 209 in Kennewick. Reserve your spot by emailing shawn.spiritwood@gmail.com or dennis.spiritwood@gmail.com.

Spiritwood Acoustic offers a unique music experience in Kennewick, functioning both as a specialized string instrument shop and a community gathering space for traditional music. Located at 5601 W. Clearwater Ave, Suite 209 (just above Artmil Design), this appointment-based shop specializes in quality used string instruments and hosts regular jam sessions that foster musical community in the Tri-Cities area.

Founded by Dennis Miller, a veteran musician and former president of the Mid-Columbia Traditional Arts and Music Association, Spiritwood maintains a regular schedule of musical gatherings, including Monday night bluegrass jams (6:30PM-9PM) and bi-weekly Saturday open jams (1PM-3PM). The shop’s intimate setting creates an authentic space where instrument appreciation and live performance intersect, making it particularly well-suited for acoustic roots music where every note and story can be clearly heard.

For musicians looking to explore the shop’s inventory or those wanting to participate in their regular jam sessions, appointments can be made by calling Dennis (509-551-1913) or sending an email. Spiritwood’s commitment to building community around American roots music traditions makes it a natural home for performances and workshops that celebrate these enduring musical forms.
