We’re back at the Nodding Donkey in Ellensburg on Friday, May 9th from 7-10pm. Our first show here went well, so we’re happy to return with our folk songs and stories.

The brick walls and wooden interior of this downtown spot create a nice, natural sound for acoustic instruments. Our mandolin, guitar, and vocal harmonies should fill the space just right without drowning out conversation.

This is a 21+ venue with good craft beer options and a relaxed vibe where you can either listen closely or chat with friends while we play.

If you’re a CWU student needing a break before finals, a local, or just passing through town, come spend an evening with us. No cover charge – just straightforward folk music in a comfortable setting.

The Nodding Donkey stands as a staple of downtown Ellensburg, offering a slice of local culture alongside live music. This unassuming bar has established itself as a fixture in the community, known particularly for its laid-back atmosphere and consistent support of local musicians.

The intimate space creates a natural connection between performers and audience that works especially well for folk music and storytelling. The venue attracts a diverse crowd – a blend of Central Washington University students, Ellensburg locals, and occasional visitors passing through town. This mix creates an attentive and appreciative audience that typically responds well to narrative songs and traditional folk music.

What sets the Nodding Donkey apart in Ellensburg’s music scene is its unpretentious, comfortable environment where the music takes center stage without overwhelming the social experience. The bar is known for its selection of local beers, providing a perfect complement to an evening of live music.

For performers, the venue offers a relaxed setting where acoustic instruments and vocals can be heard clearly throughout the space. For listeners, it provides a genuine piece of Ellensburg’s music community – casual enough for conversation yet focused enough for those who want to fully engage with the performance.
