Jackson Welter brings a distinctive voice to the Welter Brothers’ sound, blending his skills as a banjo player and vocalist with a deep passion for bluegrass and folk traditions. A recent graduate of Northwest University with a degree in Audio Production, Jackson’s academic background enhances the duo’s sonic landscape without overshadowing his role as a musician. His exploration of audio production serves as a complement to his creative work with the banjo, enriching the performances and recordings he produces with his brother.
Jackson’s academic interests also extend to anthropology, a field that has deepened his understanding of the cultural roots of music. He has a particular fascination with the “Child Ballads,” a collection of traditional folk songs from England and Scotland, which he views through both artistic and cultural lenses. These ballads inspire his work, offering him a bridge between music’s past and its contemporary expression.
With a global upbringing that spans the Pacific Basin, Europe, and the Middle East, Jackson’s diverse experiences infuse his music with a worldly perspective. His multifaceted background, combined with his academic and creative pursuits, adds layers of depth and authenticity to the Welter Brothers’ performances and recordings.
